Roger Federer suffered one of his heaviest defeats at Wimbledon as he went down in straight sets to Poland’s Hubert Hurkacz in the quarter-finals on Wednesday.
Hurkacz, seeded 14th, registered an emphatic 6-3, 7-6(4), 6-0 victory to storm into the semi-finals.
Federer, the winner of 20 Grand Slam titles, had been chasing Martina Navratilova’s All England Club haul of nine singles titles.
