Fans of This Morning were left in floods of tears after the show's competition winner revealed she had just three months to live.

Heather Bone, 40, was visited by Alison Hammond for the Dosh on your Doorstep competition live on the show, but her brave battle with breast cancer left viewers in tears.

Emotional viewers who watched the show hailed the doting mother an “inspiration” as she bravely battles cancer and revealed the money was going towards a farewell party for her loved ones.

Before the competition took place, Alison, 46, questioned the mum-of-two from Sussex about her illness in which the brave mother opened up about her tragic diagnosis two years ago.

She told Alison: “I got diagnosed with breast cancer in 2019, I then got the all clear just before my 40th birthday.

“I thought things were getting back to normal, I then got told I had brain mets, so now I am getting myself organised.

“I have been told I’ve got three months to live, so I am going to have a ‘wake me up before I go, go’ party before my passing,” she told viewers.

When asked how she continues to remain positive for her family, Heather responded very matter-of-factly and stated that “there was no point in moping.”

She added: “It is what it is, if I mope it won’t help my family, my husband or my children. So I am in auto-mode at the moment.”

The former Big Brother star, who recently opened up about her obesity battle, then started the pop quiz which saw Heather take home £1,000 with a further £1,000 donated by the production team at ITV.

Overwhelmed with her success, Alison, who hilariously responded a hateful troll online recently, went on to reveal Heather’s birthday surprise from her favourite singer Craig David, who gave her a personalised message and sang Happy Birthday to mark her 40th birthday just two days ago.

During the 15 minute segment, Heather gained more than 10,000 additional Instagram followers while on the show as viewers showed their support for her through her cancer journey.

After the show, fans took to Twitter to share how touched they were by Heather’s incredible story and shared how they felt after listening to Heather’s gruelling battle with cancer.

One user wrote: “So sad. Hope Heather has an amazing party. And has lots of loving memories before her sad passing. But especially knows how loved she is with her remaining time.”

Another added: “Just watched the lovely lady heather winning the dosh on your door step … what an inspirational woman she is … I’m in bits after that please send her all our love and strength.”

Echoing the sentiment of countless others, a third viewer shared: “Wow. That was emotional. Well done Heather. Hope she has the best party. #ThisMorning at its best there.”

This Morning airs on weekdays from 10am on ITV.
