Rihanna's music has 640 PERCENT increase on streamers after Super Bowl

Rihanna’s music sees a whopping 640 PERCENT increase in streaming on Spotify after her show-stopping Super Bowl halftime show performance

  • Rihanna’s opening song B**** Better Have My Money went up by 2,600 percent
  • Three of her songs passed the billion-streams mark after she was announced
  • Chris Stapleton and Sheryl Lee Ralph also saw increases after their appearances

Rihanna showed her dominance after her acclaimed Super Bowl LVII halftime show set on Sunday night when she also took over streaming platforms.

Streaming of the 34-year-old hitmaker’s music on Spotify increased by more than 640 percent in the United States immediately following her 13-minute performance, according to the service.

She ran through many of her biggest hits, though her non-album single B**** Better Have My Money saw one of the strongest increases in streaming — though, ironically, she won’t be receiving any money for her Super Bowl performance.

The song, which was still a hit but may not have been as well known as her album-based singles, had its streaming figures increase by more than 2,600 percent in the US on Spotify.

But fans were apparently excited for Rihanna to perform even prior to the show — when she revealed that she was pregnant with her second child — as her streaming figures began to significantly increase on the platform even after she was announced as the sole act for halftime.

Fan interest: According to the streamer, Rihanna’s music surged in popular both after her show and after she was announced as the sole artist

Following the announcement that she would be performing on September 25 of last year, three of her songs crossed the billion-plays mark on Spotify.

Umbrella and We Found Love, two of the songs that made it to her Super Bowl setlist, both passed the one billion streams mark, while Love On The Brain, which was not performed, also earned that distinction.

Although her music overall was streamed 640 percent more after the performance, several tracks particularly increased in popularity.

In addition to B**** Better Have My Money, which got a particularly prominent spot as her set opener, Diamonds, Rude Boy and We Found Love were all particularly popular with listeners on Spotify in the US.

Streaming of Diamonds shot up by 1,400 percent, while Rude Boy streaming increased by 1,170 percent and We Found Love went up by 1,160 percent.

Rihanna saw the most obvious streaming increase, which was fitting as her halftime show performance was one of the highlights of the night for many viewers at home and in the stadium in Arizona.

However, other performers featured earlier in the night also saw significant increases in streaming on Spotify.

Country rocker Chris Stapleton, who sang and shredded on guitar while performing the Star-Spangled Banner, saw his streaming on the platform increase by 65 percent.

The Abbott Elementary actress, singer and Broadway star Sheryl Lee Ralph saw her streaming figures increase by 70 percent after the game.

She was on hand to perform Lift Every Voice And Sing before the game, which is known as the Black National Anthem.

The two cities hosting the Super Bowl teams also saw upticks in streaming of songs representing their teams.

In Kansas City, Migos’ Mahomes, named after the Chief’s quarterback Patrick Mahomes, was particularly popular.

KCMO Anthem by Tech N9ne was also a hit with those fans, as was Irv Da PHENOM’s Red & Yellow, featuring Cash Image and B.e.e., and Winner Winner by Ronny E.

In Philadelphia Eagles territory, No One Likes Us/Fly Eagles Fly by Go Go Gadget was particularly popular.

Philly native Meek Mills’ songs Monster and Wins & Losses were also popular with fans in that area.

Elton John even turned out to be a popular artist with Eagles fans, as his song Philadelphia Freedom saw an increase in streaming.
