How Meghan Markle And Prince Harry Just Surprised A Young Fan

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have a lot on their to-do list. They stepped down from royal duties, are parents to toddler son Archie and are expecting a baby girl this summer. And we cannot forget about their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey that sent shockwaves around the world.

When the couple isn’t spilling the tea on their post-royal life, they can be found soaking up the sun at their palatial estate in Montecito, California. They also make time for charity work and generally enjoy making the world a better place, especially for children.

Meghan frequently volunteers with Baby2Baby, an organization dedicated to providing mothers and children with essentials. She lent a hand at a drive-through event shortly after her July 2020 miscarriage, according to People.

But it’s what Meghan and Prince Harry did to celebrate International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month that has everyone buzzing. Keep reading to see how the couple surprised a fan.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry surprised a fan on Zoom

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry took to their Archewell Foundation website to ask others to show acts of compassion for women in their community. In March 2021, the couple decided to tutor a teenage girl who was trudging through a year of high school online, and through L.A. Works and the I Have a Dream Foundation, one lucky teen got the surprise of her life!

It’s obvious this was not your average Zoom session. L.A. Works Executive Director Deborah Brutchey told People that the couple made a serious impact on the teen, and this was an experience she’ll remember forever.

“She had this moment of surprise and excitement when she got on the phone with the Duke and Duchess. … She had been following Meghan’s story quite a bit, so she was very excited that she had the opportunity to speak with them.”

They discussed “overcoming challenges in your life and how do you stay true to your values,” Brutchey revealed. “Things that are so relatable … but also so public in what [they’ve] gone through.”

The young woman was touched by Meghan and Harry’s “compassion, humility and wisdom,” and the conversation gave her a newfound confidence that was squashed by a former teacher. To make things even sweeter, the couple sent sunflowers and a note after spotting the blooms in her room.

The couple previously surprised fans by joining a virtual poetry class in February, per Town & Country.
