Dubai to Pune: Ganpati Bappa Morya

Rediff readers from across the world have been sharing photographs of their Ganeshotsav celebrations with us.

Rahul Kirkinde from Airoli, Navi Mumbai, says: ‘It’s our 24th year of welcoming Ganpati Bappa at Kirkinde’s house.
‘In the wake of social awareness, we have opted for homemade eco-friendly decoration as well as a shadu (natural clay) murti.
‘We are three brothers and three sisters. We come together with our families to celebrate the festival in traditional ethnic wear and enjoy ukadi modaks.’

 

Lakshmikanth and Pallavi celebrate the festival in Dubai, UAE, with their 6-year-old daughter, Khushi.

 

Bhusawal-based Vishakha Ashish Bhagwat says: ‘Our family has been celebrating this festival for 35 years. Now, my kids also contribute their part to decorate and worship Ganesha. May Bappa bless us all.’

 

Praveen Kutaphale‘s family welcomed Ganesha into their home in Pune.

 

Narayan Bodke, who lives in Ambegaon, Pune, has been celebrating the festival for four decades now. He sent us this picture of Ganesha at his home this year.
