Red Movie Review: Ram Pothineni,  Malvika Sharma, Nivetha Pethuraj and Amritha Aiyer starrer action thriller drama Red, helmed by Kishore Tirumala  has finally hit the theaters today on 14th January. Let’s see the story of Red.

Story: A youngster gets killed and creates confusion among the cops when they find out that the one accused in the crime has a look-alike!  How do cops find out the real culprit? Form rest of the story.

Plus Points:

  • Performance
  • Ram Pothineni
  • Screenplay
  • Nivetha Pethuraj

 Minus Points:

  • Few unnecessary scenes
  • Flashback episode

Performance:  Ram Pothineni in the roles of Aditya and Siddharth steals the show, which are poles apart in mannerisms and body language.  He pulls off both roles with ease.  Ram  has worked hard to show us the differences between both the roles- Aditya and Siddharth. Pavitra Lokesh  who is playing the role of a con woman character, is ok. Nivetha Pethuraj  as the smart cop, too, stands out. Rest of the cast of Red perform accordingly.

Technical:   The film Red has a gripping screenplay and has all the trappings of a good murder mystery. Director Kishore Tirumala not only gets his lead characters right but also etches a solid character for the female cop Yamini  (Nivetha Pethuraj in an effective performance). He does miss a trick, though, by giving us weekly written female lead (Malvika Sharma) who feature in a few sequences and songs that seem to have been put together in haste.   Editing  and the music is good. The cinematograph work of Red is noteworthy. The background score by Mani Sharma fits the intense mood of the film like a glove.

Analysis: Ram Pothineni starrer RED is  taut thriller that keeps  the movie lovers engaged till the very end.
