Tamil comedian Vivek has reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest today. His condition is said to be critical. The 59 years old actor has been admitted to a hospital in Chennai after he complained of chest pain.
According to the latest reports, comedian Vivek, known for films such as Anniyan and Sivaji, underwent angioplasty at SIMS, Vadapalani in Chennai and the team of doctors is monitoring his condition.
On Thursday, Vivek was vaccinated for Covid-19. He had spoken about why he chose a government hospital Omandurar Hospital over a private hospital for Covid-19 vaccination purposes. Vivek had said, “I want to make a point that the Coronavirus/Covid-19 vaccine is safe. It doesn’t mean we will not get Coronavirus if we get vaccinated. We should be careful. The vaccine assures that we do not get affected severely.“
The actor had also posted a picture of him taking the vaccine on his Twitter page, and urged everyone to take the vaccine and said that only a vaccine can save our lives in this Coronavirus pandemic.
Vivek was introduced by film maker K Balachander, whois popular for his comedy tracks in films including Run, Perazhagan and Sivaji.
The hospital hasn’t released any statement on the Vivek’ health yet.
