Yara Shahidi and Marcus Scribner have an early morning at Good Morning America on Wednesday (July 20) in New York City.
The on-screen siblings were on the morning show to chat about the new season of grown-ish, which premieres that same night on Freeform.
While on GMA, Yara dished how she’s been trying to get Marcus to move over to the show since the first season.

“I feel like we grew up in a 20-foot vicinity from each other in the school trailer [on black-ish] and so that’s what I missed the most, and what made him coming to grown-ish just such a treat,” Yara shared.
“I’ve been pitching this since season one. I was like, ‘Guys, Marcus.’ I had a whole end storyline planned out. I just kept circling back. I got my favorite thing about black-ish,” she added.
Yara was also asked about what her pitch was to get him on the show. Check out the full interview below to see what she said!
