Vogue Williams has responded to accusations she and husband Spencer Matthews broke Tier 4 restrictions with their trip to St Barts at the end of December.

The 35 year old Heart Radio presenter insisted the trip was “for work” as she responded the backlash from fans.

It was reported in December that Vogue and her former Made in Chelsea husband Spencer, 32, broke Covid-19 government guidelines to jet off to St Barts with their two children, Theo and Gigi.

Vogue was photographed showing off her enviable figure while jogging on the beach of the Caribbean island.

London entered Tier 4 lockdown the week before, which encouraged the public to “stay at home” and meant people are banned from travelling abroad unless they have a legal reason to. Travel exceptions within the country are only allowed for reasons like work, education and childcare.

After the reports came out Vogue was criticised on social media, including in the comments of her recent Instagram posts.

One critic wrote: “Vogue, I wish you well but why do you and your family think you're above the law? Its in bad taste while everyone else makes sacrifices and follows restrictions.

“You can imagine and understand how angry and p**sed off people are by those selfish decisions. You might feel different if you had a job on the frontline or lost someone to Covid perhaps. Stay safe”.

Another added: “What about breaking the law flying off for a holiday? So disrespectful. Whilst nurses and doctors are exhausted from trying to save lives? Caring and helping patients. Dying fron Covid 19.”

As a third asked: “Why haven’t you addressed all your fans and followers who are confused and offended by your need to break tier 4 travel restrictions?

“The best thing you could do right now is show a bit of sincerity and compassion. Instead you are running from the truth, deleting questions and blocking people who have supported you and helped you get to where you are!!”

Vogue has now responded to the criticism as she shared a short statement on her Instagram story.

The model explained: “I would like to assure my lovely Instagram family that I have not broken the government guidelines since rules and guidance came into effect last March.”

She continued: “I also had Covid tests to ensure I travelled safely and I adhered to all safety guidelines recommended.

“It’s not ideal to be away working during these times but it had been booked in since last year…”
