Tom Felton’s pal issues update on his health after ‘collapse’ at Ryder Cup sparks concerns

Harry Potter actor Tom Felton, who played Draco Malfoy in the film adaptations, was put on a stretcher and taken off during the Ryder Cup celebrity match in Wisconsin. Fans expressed their concerns at the time as little was known about the incident.

Now, his friend Derek Pitts has shared an update on his Instagram page.

The singer uploaded a picture of Tom smiling for the camera as he sat with his skateboard.

Alongside the snap, he wrote: “He’s okay,” followed by: “Speedy recovery brother.”

Reports suggested that Tom had collapsed during the game, however the cause is unknown.

He was pictured being escorted off the pitch by a medical team.

A statement from PGA of America later said: “In today’s Ryder Cup Celebrity Match, actor and musician Tom Felton experienced a medical incident on the course while participating for Europe.

“He was transported to a local hospital for treatment. No further details are available.”

At the match, Tom was joined by Teemu Selanne, Mandy Rose, Toni Kukoc, Mike Eruzione, Stephanie Szostak, A.J. Hawk, Dan Jansen, Alessandro Del Piero, Kelly Slater and Sasha Vujacic.

The actor is yet to speak out about the incident on social media.

Express.co.uk has contacted a representative for Tom for comment.

Fans of the Harry Potter star flocked to social media to post get well soon wishes.

Sweet Debby tweeted: “We believe in you love! You are strong, we love you, it will be alright @TomFelton.”

Following Derek’s post today, fans expressed their happiness at hearing he is on the mend.

Natalie Ramirez wrote: “Glad he’s doing good and feeling a bit better.”

Tom celebrated his 33rd birthday a day before he fell ill.

On Twitter and Instagram, he shared a selfie of him smiling while looking away from the camera.

He wrote: “33 years done – good lord it’s been so much fun getting here – yet, somehow, I still feel the best is yet to come – thank you all for your love , support & sense of humour.

“Let’s keep a good thing going – to the next 33 xx.”
