Rebel Wilson has shared the secret to her incredible five stone weight loss and confessed she puts none of it down to strict dieting.

Life in lockdown saw the popular actress transform her figure with what she says was a "year of health’" and was the result of a lot of hard work and determination.

Rebel, 41, spoke out about her dramatic lifestyle overhaul in an interview with Shape – a diet and fitness magazine.

The Hustle actress talked about how her journey to a healthier lifestyle came about after turning 40 and looking into the possibility of freezing her eggs.

She told Shape: “Experts told me the healthier I am, the better the process can go.”

This was the kick-start that encouraged the actress to enter onto a journey that saw her attend an Austrian health retreat in which the focus was on flushing “out every toxic substance possible in all sorts of crazy ways”.

Time there gave Rebel the tools she needed to adopt a healthier approach to her life and following her time at the retreat she learned how moderate walking was a way she could lose the excess body fat.

Rebel also spoke about how she would listen to motivational podcasts when out with her trainer to keep up the work.

The Bridesmaids star made it clear it wasn’t extreme dieting that saw her body transformation but “learning how to manage emotional eating and taking daily supplements”.

The five stone weight loss has seen an incredible change for her and she took to her Instagram to share the results of her hard work in May with her 9.9m followers.

She showed off her amazing new look in a series of photos including some beach shots on a holiday in Florida where she wore a black swimsuit and posed with her hands on her hips wearing a blue hat and oversized shades.

Clearly loving her trip and new physique, she captioned the picture: “Palm Beach-ing I think I wanna move to Florida now.”

The actress also shared an image of her new look in a fitted red dress with a white shirt underneath showing off her toned shape and she posed with one hand on her hip with her long blonde wavy hair draped over her shoulders.

She admitted to still eating what she fancies at times, she said: “Mentally preparing for the week ahead today…and eating waffles!”

Rebel went on to speak to the publication about her desire to have lost weight earlier in her life, admitting she “tried [to lose weight] when she was 30, not 40.”

However, she also offered some inspirational advice for others looking to lose weight, saying: “It’s never too late to start. Anyone can go on walks and drink more water and do little, consistent things that’ll improve their lives – and it’s never too late.”
