The Yorkshire Shepherdess Amanda Owen took to Twitter last night after revealing that she had suffered an injury “in the line of duty”. The Our Yorkshire Farm star was seen sporting a black eye in her social media snaps after being “head butted” by a sheep.

True to form, the mum-of-nine Amanda took the unfortunate incident in her stride and returned to work to look after her flock.

“Keep calm & carry on.

“Don’t let anything stop ewe,” she wrote online, following the incident.

In images shared with her 172,900 followers, she could be seen shearing her sheep.

She later shared an update on her family, after a fan asked how they were all getting on

“They’ve gone feral,” she joked, replying in the comments section of her post.

“Scattered to the four winds, driving tractors, making tea, digging holes, washing dogs & chasing sheep.

“One rainy day playing dominoes by a decent fire fuelled by school exercise books apparently?!?!” she continued.

The star, who regularly shares updates on the micro-blogging site, returned to say that she had “qualified” for some “sweet sympathy” from her offspring.

Amanda and her kids were seen tucking into marshmallows and fruit skewers dipped in chocolate and sticky toffee pudding.

The Channel 5 star lives on Ravenseat Farm with his husband Clive Owen and their brood.

The couple are parents to Raven, 20, Reuben, 17, Miles, 15, Edith, 12, Violet, 10, Sidney, nine, Annas, six, Clemmy, five and Nancy, three.

Earlier in the day, Amanda detailed her facial injury online.

She posted a picture which showed the shepherdess lying on the sofa with an ice-pack covering her face.

Other pictures captured her black eye.

“Injured in the line of duty. *Head-butted by a sheep* #shepherdess #farm #sheepdog,” she informed her fans.

Many concerned followers took to the comments section of her post to check that she was OK.

“Hope you are okay, I should get it checked out,” one user wrote.

“Poor you, Looks very painful,” a second remarked.

“Who’d have thought it were so dangerous! Is an American football helmet off the shopping list now?”(sic) another enquired.

“How come even with a black eye you still look fab? Kate will look after you,” a fourth added, referring to her trusty sheep dog.
