In 2019, Norway’s Princess Martha fell in love with an American shaman. First, Martha was Shaman Durek Verrett’s client and then they began dating. They went on a shaman love tour and she seemed very happy. Shaman Durek’s clientele seems to be full of celebrities and wealthy elites, and I suspect that poor people don’t have a need for his shaman services. In any case, they’ve been together for more than three years. Now they’re engaged. Martha was basically kicked out of the Norwegian royal family several years ago, so it’s not like her title will be affected or anything like that.

He made a lengthy statement on his Instagram, saying in part: “When you know you know. There is nothing better than having clarity as a man that the woman that stands in front of you is the one.” He called Princess Martha “the most pure hearted, angelic, wise, powerhouse woman who represents all levels of a goddess in my eyes.” I agree, her vibe is very pure-hearted. She seems like a woman searching for spirituality and meaning everywhere. In Princess Martha’s IG post, she describes Shaman Durek as “the one who makes my heart skip, the one who sees me and acknowledges me from my highest potential, who makes me laugh and who I can be vulnerable with. Love transcends and makes us grow.” Okay.

Shaman Durek proposed with an emerald-and-diamond ring. According to People Magazine, he spent six months designing the ring with Joy Sangaland Smith of Communion. He specifically wanted an emerald because that’s the favorite stone of Martha’s mother, Queen Sonja. Per People:

“The emerald sits within a halo of 19 Diamonds, with four trillion-cut diamonds surrounding the face of the ring, each representing the four elements –— earth, air, water and fire. It has 12 additional diamonds around the shield-shaped face of the ring, designed to protect their sacred bond against negativity, and three additional diamonds on either side of the ring to represent Princess Martha’s three daughters.

The infinity detailing on either side of the ring is representative of the Nordic symbolism representing the intertwining of two beings, and the love knot carved beneath the underside of the ring symbolizes their union.

I actually like that he put a lot of thought into the ring and what it symbolized. She probably loved that and loved hearing him explain the meaning. That being said, I dislike the ring! It’s just too big and chunky for my taste but everyone is different. Anyway, good luck to these two crazy kids.
