Lizzo Covers BTS’ ‘Butter’ On BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge

Lizzo put her own groovy twist on the chart-topping BTS song “Butter” during BBC Radio 1‘s “Live Lounge” on Thursday, September 23.

The musician rocked out to the No. 1 hit along with her backing band while sporting a black tube-top bearing the word “VMIN” in bright gold letters, a reference to the freestyle rap she recently performed about the special bond that BTS members, V and Jimin share.

“I love you, you love me, just like Jimin loves some V / Gooey like that butter B / Gooey like that butter B / Say I like you, you like me / BFFs like VMIN, G,” the 33-year-old belted out in the video posted to Twitter.

In the interview portion of her time at BBC Radio 1, Lizzo revealed that she has long been a fan of the band and that ‘Butter’ is a song that she’s always “singing around the house anyway.”

“I have dedicated my artistry to making positive music, and BTS does just that,” she continued. “The world has fallen in love with them because they are so sweet and pure and they’re just good-hearted. And I wanted to bring some positivity into the world via their song.”

The musician also performed her Cardi B assisted, No. 1 song, “Rumors” during “Live Lounge.”
