Julia Fox has spoken out about being compared to Kim Kardashian as her romance with Kanye West heats up.
The Uncut Gems actress, 32, has been in the spotlight in recent weeks since hooking up with Kanye, thanks to the pair’s lavish dates, heavy PDA and full-on professional photoshoots.
Kanye is newly divorced from Kim, who is currently dating Saturday Night Live star Pete Davidson.
Speaking on the Call Her Daddy podcast with Alex Cooper, Julia first brushed off claims that the relationship is a PR stunt, telling nay-sayers that ‘time will tell’.
When asked why she believes she is constantly compared to reality star Kim, Julia acknowledged that she and Kim have ‘worn similar looks’ or the same outfits.
She added she ‘knew at the time’ Kim had worn a particular outfit but ‘thought it was cool that she had worn it’, adding it was wrong that ‘women are always being pitted against each other’.
As for whether Julia was ever jealous of Kim – not helped by her boyfriend having publicly asked for his ex-wife back multiple times – she said there may be ‘residual feelings’ after the divorce, but she wasn’t jealous.
‘It’s human, it’s normal. But I also know that he’s with me now,’ she shrugged.
Host Alex asked Julia if she ever felt ‘love bombed’ by Kanye’s grand gestures: one of their first dates saw the Donda rapper direct an entire photoshoot at their restaurant, and he recently bought expensive gifts for her and all her friends.
‘He doesn’t have, like, a shady ulterior motive,’ she said, which would be ‘a crucial element’ of love bombing – showing love and affection on someone to manipulate or isolate them.
She explained her rapper boyfriend never tries to keep her from her friends or ‘lock me away’ – instead, she said, they often speak about how to make Julia ‘the best version’ of herself.
‘That is always the conversation, always,’ she said. ‘How am I going to live up to my full potential?’
She accepted that it might ‘look a certain way’ but people don’t understand the conversations held in private.
Kim and Kanye have been co-parenting their children since filing for divorce in 2021 but recently things have been incredibly tense between them, with an argument on their eldest daughter’s use of TikTok spilling out on social media.
The couple, who were married for six years, share four children together: North, 8, Saint, six, Chicago, four, and two-year-old Saint.
