Joe Swash and Stacey Solomon are expecting their first child together but are struggling to decide on a name for her.
The pair are expecting their new arrival at the end of this year and Joe, 39, said that they are “over the moon” to be having their first girl.
However, they are yet to settle on a name for their daughter as the former EastEnders star has revealed: “We’re still going through names – we’re struggling.
"I like certain names, some names she likes, then other people don’t like certain names, so that’s still a work in progress.”
He continued to say: “The boys can’t wait to have a little sister, especially baby Rex! He keeps going up to Stacey’s tummy and kissing it, stroking it and saying the baby’s in there so he knows what’s happening and starting to get very excited.”
Joe, who opened up about home life with Stacey, 31, and the kids to Peperami TV, amid taking part in a unique food experiment where he trialled the worst British foods, revealed he’s also in awe of his fiancé’s preparations for their baby girl in their new home, which they recently bought.
“I watch Stacey getting the nursery together, painting it pink and adding the final touches – it brings a smile to my face. I can see how excited she is – we both are,” he said.
Describing him and Stacey as “hands-on parents”, he said: "We’re a fluid family – we don’t really have set roles and responsibilities. Both Stacey and I pick up the reins when we need to. There is not one person that does everything.
"We both muck in and that’s why it works, it’s how we want it to work. We both want to be with the kids, we want to be around the kids as much as possible, we’re hands-on parents.”
The pair have postponed their wedding until next summer and Joe says that despite the initial disappointment, now their baby girl gets to be there on the big day.
Speaking ahead of tying the knot, he said: “We were disappointed that we had to postpone the wedding, but we both knew we wouldn’t have got the wedding we wanted because of Covid restrictions.
"We didn’t want to rush it and, in the end, there was no point in stressing… The silver lining is that our little girl can now be there, which is lovely.”
Joe revealed that their wedding is going to be in the garden, which allows their pets to be there too. He spilled: “We’re just having close friends and family attend, it’s our wedding, we don’t want it to be too much of a spectacle, [we] want it to be intimate and something to remember.”
He also said he has some surprises in store for Stacey but that he’s keeping them a secret until the big day.
Joe Swash has been challenged by Peperami to take on the nation’s food fails and trial Britain’s saddest snacks. Calling for Brits to #BanTheBland, Joe offers a solution with his very own edible ‘British Tapas’ to be tucked into during summer soirée and picnics in the park.
