Freeform Announces Summer Premiere Dates for ‘Cruel Summer’ Season 2, ‘grown-ish’ Season 6 & New Series ‘Praise Petey’

Freeform has just revealed when three of its shows are premiering this summer!

The network unveiled it’s summer lineup on Monday morning (April 17), sharing when to expect the highly anticipated second season of Cruel Summer, the sixth and final season of grown-ish and the new animated comedy Praise Petey.

First up will be Cruel Summer season two, which will premiere on Monday, June 5th at 9pm ET/PT with a two episode premiere. Then, it will move to it’s regular 10pm time slot.

Season two is set in an idyllic waterfront town in the Pacific Northwest, and follows the rise and fall of an intense teenage friendship. Approaching the story from three different timelines surrounding Y2K, the season twists and turns as it tracks the early friendship between Megan, Isabella and Megan’s best friend Luke, the love triangle that blossomed, and the mystery that would impact all of their lives going forward.

Sadie Stanley, Lexi Underwood, Griffin Gluck, KaDee Strickland, Lisa Yamada and Sean Blakemore all star, with Paul Adelstein and Braeden De La Garza recurring.

Next up is the sixth and final season of grown-ish. The upcoming season will premiere it’s first half on Wednesday, June 28th at 10pm ET/PT.

For the new season, Justine Skye and Tara Raani have been promoting to series regulars, as Annika and Zaara, respectively.

The first ever animated Freeform original series Praise Petey is set to premiere on Friday, July 21st at 10pm ET/PT with two back-to-back episodes each week.

It follows Petey, a New York City “it” girl who has it all until her life comes crashing down around her. As luck would have it, a mysterious gift from her father gives her a new lease on life: She’s going to “lean into” modernizing his small-town cult.

The voice cast includes Annie Murphy, John Cho, Kiersey Clemons, Stephen Root, Amy Hill and Christine Baranski.
