BBC Weather: Carol Kirkwood warns of sleet and snow for parts

BBC Weather favourite Carol Kirkwood, 58, has reacted to the idea she could be temporarily replaced by an adorable youngster after her absence sparked concern from some BBC Breakfast viewers. It comes after the presenter took to Twitter to share a sweet video she spotted, which was posted by one of her BBC colleagues, Mary Rhodes, in view of her 5,658 followers, yesterday.

The newsreader posted the clip, which showed her friend’s young son trying his hand at presenting the weather forecast at home.

The boy could be seen standing in front of a weather map, which he appeared to have coloured in himself, while he spoke to the camera.

Mary wrote to Carol: “Need a day off ⁦@carolkirkwood?

“This chap is happy to step in. #weather.”
