Coronation Street will air a shock double exit in the next few weeks that will leave viewers in tears.
Angie Appleton will be leaving the cobbles with baby son George following the fallout from husband Jude’s lies being exposed.
Heartbroken Mary Taylor will be forced to say goodbye to her only remaining family on the street.
The doting grandmother, who has been through some major ups and downs with Angie, bids farewell in emotional scenes.
Angie and George, who were first welcomed to Weatherfield in August 2017, will be heading back to South Africa.
Mary has one last cuddle with her grandson before handing him back to Angie and watching them drive off in a black cab.
Angie and George’s exit comes shortly after the resolution of Jude’s storyline.
Next week, Mary and Roy manage to track down Jude to a B&B in Blackpool.
The compulsive liar, who pretended to be a marine biologist, is up to his old tricks again.
He pleads with his mother to hand him £500 to pay back the B&B owner, which she stupidly agrees to do.
It’s then revealed that he is pretending to be "Dr Ken Barlow".
Mary wants to bring Jude back to Weatherfield, but it seems likely he will have other ideas.
This means Mary will be left alone at the start of the New Year.
However, she still has Dev and the twins for company, while close pal Norris Cole will be back later in 2019.
*Coronation Street airs tonight on ITV at 7.30pm
