Coronation Street will air an hour-long episode tonight – and EastEnders is being delayed.
A major soap shake-up is happening as the normal schedule has been ripped up for one night only.
Corrie gave a "public announcement klaxon" on their social media sites as they revealed the changes to tonight’s proceedings.
Speaking to viewers in a video, actress Katie McGlynn, who plays Sinead Tinker, said: "Hi guys, it’s an hour-long episode tonight at 7.30pm. Don’t miss it."
Emmerdale will remain at 7pm, with Corrie starting at the usual time of 7.30pm, but it won’t finish at the normal time.
Viewers will get to watch all of the cobbles action in one big go without the usual 30 minute gap.
This is to accommodate a two-hour long special of ITV detective series Vera.
All this means Friday night’s EastEnders has been pushed back until 8.30pm.
The BBC soap tweeted: "#EastEnders is on at the slightly later time of 8.30pm on @BBCOne tonight."
Things take a worse turn for Roy Cropper during tonight’s one trip to the cobbles.
Corrie viewers were delighted by the news and took to Twitter to reveal their excitement.
One fan said: "Splendid! I do enjoy a 60-minute instalment, without the "inconvenience" of the half-hour break. A great way to end the week."
Another added: "An hour long episode next week as well were being spoilt."
Although this did create a bit of confusion as some viewers were worried they would be forced to miss on of the soaps.
However, soap fans that were in the know explained the reasons behind the changes on the rival soap’s Twitter pages.
