“The Bachelor franchise pays your salary,” series creator Mike Fleiss claps back.
Bachelor Nation has a few words for Kelly Ripa, after she doubled down on her disapproval of both "The Bachelor" and "The Bachelorette" on "Live with Kelly and Ryan" this week.
On Tuesday, the host said the two reality shows — which air on ABC, the same network as her morning show — left her feeling disgusted, as she discussed the "Bachelorette" premiere and star Hannah Brown’s upcoming appearance on "Live" later this week. In response, series creator Mike Fleiss and host Chris Harrison hit back on social media.
"Easy, @KellyRipa … #TheBachelor franchise pays your salary," wrote Fleiss. Harrison, sharing an article about Ripa’s slight, added, "Look out #BachelorNation @KellyRipa is coming after you and your ‘disgusting’ Monday night habit."
It’ll be interesting to see what Hannah has to say when she stops by the show on Thursday.
Ryan Seacrest kicked off the anti-Bachelor conversation yesterday, when he announced Hannah’s appearance. "I don’t know who that is or what that means," responded Ripa.
"You guys, you know how I feel about this show, it disgusts me," she continued, speaking about "The Bachelor" first. "I thought I was disgusted because I couldn’t stand the idea of 25 exceptional women fighting over one ordinary fella, in my opinion. You know how I feel ladies, we are too special to be arguing over a guy."
"Having said that, all you women watch that gross, gross show," she then said to the studio audience.
As for the "Bachelorette," she added, "I found that show just as creepy, but in a completely different way. I was like ew, ew, ew."
Regarding Hannah’s upcoming interview, Ripa also said she hoped to "talk her out of" doing the show … something that’s a moot point, you know, since it’s already been filmed.
