India-A in dire straits

India-A, chasing a target of 421, was reduced to 11 for three on the third day of the one-off ‘Test’ against England Lions on Wednesday. M. Vijay (0), Prithvi Shaw (0) and Mayank Agarwal (1) fell in quick succession.

Earlier, the hosts had declared their second innings at 194 for five after dismissing the visitors for 197 in their first essay.

Resuming at 144 for four, Ajinkya Rahane (49) and Rishabh Pant (58) added another 45 runs before the latter was dismissed by Chris Woakes.

From 189 for four, India-A lost the remaining six wickets for just eight runs as Sam Curran finished with figures of five for 43.
