A constable with Bahadurpura police station, who was caught drunk and driving at Rajendranagar on Tuesday, was placed under suspension on Wednesday. In a statement, Hyderabad Commissioner of Police Anjani Kumar said that constable K Venkatesh was placed under suspension with immediate effect as he was found intoxicated while going for duty.

Wildlife photographers association distributes food packets

Pix4Cause, an association of wildlife photographers, announced that they have been distributing over 250 food packets for lunch across Coimbatore every day to those in need amid the COVID-19 lockdown. A release said that the members also distributed grocery items along with the food packets.

Package for Yaas-affected Odisha farmers

The Odisha government on Thursday announced a package for farmers affected by the cyclonic storm Yaas .

Small and marginal farmers who suffered 33% loss in non-irrigated areas will be given an input subsidy of ₹6800 per hectare. The input subsidy for irrigated areas will be ₹13,500 per hectare.

Open market purchase of G-secs on June 17

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) said it will conduct the third tranche of open market purchase of government securities of ₹40,000 crore under the G-sec Acquisition Programme (G-SAP 1.0) on June 17, 2021, as announced earlier this month. Of this, state development loans (SDLs) up to ₹10,000 crore would be purchased, RBI said.

Škoda Auto India has unveiled the all new Octavia at an ex-showroom price of ₹25.99 lakh nationwide. The Octavia marked the beginning of Škoda Auto’s model introduction in India two decades ago. “Octavia in its fourth generation pushes the yardstick further,” the company said.

Canara Bank branches distribute food packets

Canara Bank branches under the Tiruvallur region distributed food packets to the public as part of their COVID-19 relief work. Branches at Tiruvottiyur, Tiruvallur, Gummidipoondi, Ponneri, and Tiruttani gave out 600 food packets.

Temple burgled in Medak

Some unidentified persons broke open the doors of Durga Matha temple at Rampur in Kulcharam mandal on Thursday night. According to sources, the robbers broke the temple lock and ran away with the crown of the goddess and ₹20,000 in the hundi. They also broke locks of six houses and ran away with booty. Kulcharam police registered a case.
