‘The best news of the week,’ Abhishek Bachchan on cinema halls being allowed to operate at 50% capacity

The coronavirus outbreak in the country had brought everything to a standstill. It was like our life had completely changed. We have to be in our house and stepping out has been a huge risk. Coronavirus has taken so many lives in all these months and we still have to be very careful as there is no vaccine found yet. For so many months, all the theatres, malls, gyms, and everything else had been shut down. Now, our country is moving towards the unlocking phase. Things are coming back to normal again but the number of cases keeps growing. We are now in the fifth phase of Unlocking and the Ministry of Home Affairs has decreed that cinemas, theatres, multiplexes will be permitted to open with up to 50 percent of their seating capacity from October 15. The government of Maharashtra announced new guidelines for the Unlock 5.0 phase.

Well, now, this is a good news for all cinema lovers. Films have been suffering a lot during this lockdown and the last films released in theatres were Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan, Baaghi 3, Love Aaj Kal, and others. Post that many films released on OTT platforms but going to theatres and watching films is a different feeling. However, with the opening of cinema halls, people need to be extra careful now as coronavirus is not yet gone.
