Jug Jugg Jeeyo shoot halted after Varun Dhawan, Neetu Kapoor and director Raj Mehta test positive for COVID-19

The ensemble cast of Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor, Neetu Singh and Prajakta Koli flew-off to Chandigarh to shoot their dramedy Jug Jugg Jeeyo, which is directed by Good Newwz helmer Raj Mehta. While the shoot was going smoothly, Varun, Kiara and filmmaker got tested positive for COVID-19, which has now resulted to a halt in the shooting. As per the Mumbai Mirror report, a source close to the crew said, “All three are showing only mild symptoms and are currently isolated in Chandigarh. Anil and Kiara’s reports are negative; he returned to Mumbai last evening, while she flies back today.”

The source informed, “Varun, Neetu and Raj will take a repeat test and once everyone tests negative and recovers, the shoot will resume, hopefully, by mid-December.” Jug Jugg Jeeyo marks the comeback of Neetu Kapoor after eight years of Besharam, where she was seen along with husband Rishi Kapoor and son Ranbir Kapoor. Veteran actor Anupam Kher earlier shared a note for her, which reads, “Dearest @neetu54!! Meeting you last night in Chandigarh without #RishiJi triggered off so many memories of us together in New York. Our shared tears made the bond of those moments stronger. These pics are a reminder of how #ChintuJi had a larger than life persona. I am so happy that you are working. You have made him the happiest person by doing so. We, your friends are always there for you. Remember “There are some relationships which are like a pause button on a tape recorder. They always start from where you left them!” Love and prayers. #Memories #Pics #ChintuJi @riteishd @geneliad.”

Meanwhile, earlier, when she was flying to Chandigarh, Neetu Kapoor had posted a heartfelt note, saying, “My first flight, in these scary times !! Nervousss for this journey !! While Kapoor Sahab, you aren’t here holding my hand, I know you are with me .. #RnR thank you for encouraging me to do this..#jugjuggjeeyo.”
