This Morning’s Alison Hammond on why Santa ‘does her head in’ as she opens up on Christmas Day

Everyone has their own unique Christmas schedule, and Alison Hammond has revealed to OK! what goes on in her home on the special day.

Firstly, she has a rule that is never broken. “We only open one present before lunch,” Alison, 44, tells us before explaining her tactics, “You just have to look for the present that looks the most expensive and open that one first.”

When it comes to the lunch the WW (formerly Weight Watchers) ambassador likes to take more of a backseat.

“I’ll be honest, I just do the vegetables and gravy because I can’t be bothered. My mum gets up at like 2am in the morning to cook a turkey.”

Alison, who took part in an exclusive OK! festive shoot with her This Morning co-stars, rationalises, “It’s crazy. I’m not doing that – I need my beauty sleep!”

Alison has already got some pressure from son Aiden, 13, who she shares with former husband Noureddine Boufaied, when it comes to gifts.

“He’s asked for Xbox games, and a new phone. We all want to update all the time, but until it’s broken he won’t be getting a new one. However, Santa steps in, buys him what he wants and ruins everything. He does my head in!”

However, she does regard, “Waking up and seeing my son's face when he sees all the presents” as one of her favourite things about Christmas.

Spending time with her family is incredibly important to This Morning's Alison, which is why she's made the decision to not star in a pantomime this year.

“Last year I didn’t do panto and it’s amazing how much more fun I had because I had time to go shopping. It all feels so rushed so I decided not to do it again this year.”

She then joked, “Well, basically nobody offered it to me but, hey ho, it’s one of those things.”

While Vanessa Feltz also revealed what happens in her household telling OK! that she's “woken at dawn to watch my three grandchildren open their presents. I’m the sort of grandma that’s always at work, and I have to get to work on the radio at 4:30am, so to have all the time in the world feels so good.”

The 57-year-old is in a relationship with singer Ben Ofoedu, who she also always sees in pantomime. She said of his performance in Aladdin – “he makes a very good Genie, with a fabulous physique.”

Also, joining Alison on the OK! shoot was Phil Vickery, Lisa Snowdon and Dr Chris Steele.
