It is the first time that our country India is going to host the top security officials of the central Asian countries. India is hosting a conclave of top security officials of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan with a focus on the evolving security situation in Afghanistan and the ways to deal with threat of the terrorism emanating from that country. National Security Advisor – NSA Ajit Doval will meet his counterparts from Central Asian countries in New Delhi today on 6th December. This will be the first time that NSAs of Central Asian countries will be in Delhi for a security meeting amid evolving humanitarian and security situation in Afghanistan.
The sources revealed that the terror groups proscribed by tUN, Jaish-e-Mohammed (LeT) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), continue to maintain bases in Afghanistan ahead of a meeting of NSA Ajit Doval with his central Asian counterparts which is going to be held today.
The Central Asia and India are on the same page on the terrorism as both sides have been battling violence from Islamist extremists.
Earlier this year, PM Narendra Modi hosted 1st India-Central Asia Summit in virtual format on 27th January, which was attended by Presidents of Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyz Republic, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekista.
