Bill Gates applauds Modi for India crossing 200 crore Covid vaccinations

For India’s accruing Covid vaccination count that crossed the 200 crore mark, the co-founder of Microsoft Bill Gates said nice things about the Prime Minister of the country Narendra Modi today on his official Twitter handle.

His tweet reads, “Congratulations  @narendramodi for yet another milestone of administering 200 crore vaccinations. We are grateful for our continued partnership with Indian vaccine manufacturers and the Indian government for mitigating the impact of Covid-19.”

Earlier, he had also praised the country’s vaccination drive when he mwt Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya at the World Economic Forum in Switzerland’s Davos, a couple of months ago. 

It has been 18 months since the beginning of Covid vaccination drive in India and the country has achieved 200 crore mark as of now. The Union government started administering free precaution doses on July 15, as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the celebration of the 75th year of India’s independence from British colonists. The free precaution doses are available at all government centres for 75 days across India for the people with age groups 18-59.
