Collector Pravin Kumar has directed the officials concerned to hasten the pace of development works as per the targets, at all government hospitals.
At the district-level hospital development committee, the Collector directed the officials to ensure the provision of basic amenities at the government hospitals to prevent inconvenience to patients. The funds sanctioned for various works should be utilised within the given timeframe. He sought a report on the vacant posts of health workers and staff so that he could send it to the Principal Secretary (Health) for necessary action.
KGH Superintendent G. Arjuna said Rs. 3 crore was sanctioned to the hospital under NTR Arogya Seva from April to June this year for undertaking civil and electrical works through APMIDC and for purchase of surgical equipment, X-Ray films, furniture and provision of basic amenities. Of this Rs. 2,16,49,357 was spent and Rs. 83,50,643 was yet to be used.
Government Regional Eye Hospital Superintendent Dr. VVL Narasimha Rao said Rs. 3.5 lakh was sanctioned to the hospital for the construction of the compound wall.
