‘Probe irregularities in finalising tenders’

A Division Bench of the High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad has directed the officials of the Andhra Pradesh unit of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) to inquire into the allegations of irregularities in finalising tenders pertaining to maintenance of biomedical equipment contract work.

The direction was given after hearing a PIL petition filed by I.V. Ramaraju, seeking a CBI probe into the matter.

The Bench also directed the ACB to file a report within four weeks.

Kadapa Collector

The Bench also directed the Kadapa Collector not to allow a cement company to raise any structure in and around a water body at Chilamkur and Niduzuvvi villages of the district.

The direction was given after hearing a PIL petition stating that mining leases and environment clearances given to the company were contrary to different statutes.
