The present cloudy weather will continue in the city over the next week coupled with spells of rain, thunder showers or drizzle, forecasts the Met Department.
The Telangana State will receive light to moderate showers for the coming two days, with heavy rainfall in a couple of districts.
Officials from the department said the weather station at Begumpet recorded 2.4 centimetres of rain on Thursday, while Patancheru registered about two to three centimetres.
As per the information shared by GHMC, a few places at Patancheru and Ramachandrapuram received the highest cumulative rainfall of over three centimetres in a single day up to 8 a.m. on Thursday, followed by areas of Malkajgiri, Chandanagar, Begumpet and Secunderabad.
The sky remained overcast and it drizzled the entire day on Thursday, causing minor discomfort to the movement of people and traffic.
The GHMC monsoon emergency teams remained alert and cleared water stagnation at various points, including Mehdipatnam, Gudimalkapur, Mallepally, Ahmed Nagar, Asif Nagar, Indira Nagar, Saidabad, Malakpet, Dabeerpura, Santosh Nagar, Yakutpura, Engine Bowli, Ramnaspura, Rajendranagar, Jiyaguda and other locations.
