Officials told to stick to project deadlines

Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao has directed the officials to take steps to improve institutional deliveries. He urged the public representative to be friendly with doctors pointing out that they were unwilling to work in rural areas due to trouble being created by locals whenever there was any unfortunate incident.

Participating in the general body meeting of the Zilla Parishad held here on Saturday presided over by Zilla Parishad chairperson Rajamani Murali Yadav, the Minister said that some 1,100 posts were sanctioned in the state and it will be ensured that vacant posts at Zaheerabad, Narayanakhed, Andol, Medak and Narsapur will be filled immediately.

“As the rainy season has started, conduct special drive in coordination with rural water supply, health and panchayat and ensure that there is no water stagnation,” he directed the collectors.

Referring to Mission Bhagiratha, Mr. Harish Rao expressed concern over non-completion of bulk water supply to all villages. He directed them to complete bulk water supply by July 25th.

Earlier in the day, the ZP meeting witnessed heated arguments among the ruling party members over bills pending despite repeated appeals and the trouble they were facing for several months after completing the works. MLC S. Ramulu Naik alleged that the bills were drawn by persons other than those who executed the work.

Prabhakar Reddy, Collector Vasam Venkateswarlu promised to release the pending bills in three/ four days. Mr. Ramulu Naik warned that he would come to Collector’s office if the problem was not addressed by that date.

The meeting was chaired by Chairperson Rajamani Murali Yadav. ZPTC member G. Srikanth Goud objected to the proposed establishment of dump yard by Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) at Lakdaram stating that they were not ready to accept the garbage of other places and let every area should have its own arrangement.

Government Whip P. Sudhakar Reddy, MLAs G. Mahipal Reddy, Chinta Prabhakar, MLC Fareeduddin, collectors Vasam Venkateswarlu (Sangareddy), K. Dharma Reddy (Medak), ZP CEO T. Ravi and others participated in the meeting.
