Nalin Kumar Kateel, Member of Parliament from Dakshina Kannada, met Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, in Delhi on Wednesday and appealed to him to instruct the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to invite bids for widening the Mangaluru–Moodbidri–Karkala national highway at the earliest.
He appealed to him to call a meeting with Navayuga Udupi Tollway Pvt. Ltd. to speed up the construction of overpasses at Pumpwell and Thokkottu and stop the toll collection on NH 66 until those overpasses are completed.
The MP also requested the Minister to hasten the process of taking up road upgrading projects connecting New Mangaluru Port under Bharat Mala at an estimated cost of Rs. 924 crore.
Mr. Kateel also appealed to lay the foundation stone for building fisheries harbour at Kulai soon, a release stated.
