The State government is set to appoint guest teachers to fight the shortage of teachers in primary and high schools.
Disclosing this while replying to BJP member Subhash Guttedar during the Question Hour in the Assembly, Primary and Secondary Education Minister N. Mahesh said while 12,500 guest teachers would be recruited for primary schools, 3,100 guest teachers would be recruited for high schools.
Such a situation had arisen as there were 25,600 vacancies of teachers in primary and high schools, Mr. Mahesh said. The government had commenced the process of appointment of 10,000 graduate teachers, he said. The process would be completed in 10 to 15 days.
