CRPF Havildar goes missing

Palayamkottai police are on the lookout for a Central Reserve Police Force officer, who went missing while he was on his way from Palayamkottai to Chandigarh.

Police said N. Annadurai (36) of Manaththi near Thenthirupperai in Thoothukudi district, who is working as a Havildar in the Central Reserve Police Force in Chandigarh, recently came on leave to visit his family living in Palayamkottai.

After his leave ended, he left for Chandigarh on June 29 by train. He was in touch with his wife Devakani over the phone.

However, she could not contact him after June 30 and his abandoned belongings were recovered at the Delhi Railway Station on July 3.

The Railway Police, who recovered the phone number of Devakani from a diary, contacted her on Thursday evening.

She filed a complaint with the Palayamkottai police seeking their intervention to locate her husband.

Further investigations are on.
