Control room set up

Srikakulam District administration set up a control room in the Collector’s office to monitor water flow to Vamsadhara river which has been receiving huge inflows from Odisha’s catchment area.

Situation under control

Gotta barrage received around 30,000 cusecs of waters till Sunday evening and the situation was under control, according to Srikakulam Collector K. Dhananjaya Reddy and M. Surendra Reddy, Superintending Engineer of the Vamsadhara project.

They urged people to be vigilant as more inflows were anticipated by Monday and directed tehsildars to take up relief measures in low-lying areas if necessary. They were told to inform the Control Room (08942-240557) in case of an emergency.
