Congress MP Shashi Tharoor moved a court here on Tuesday for anticipatory bail in the case of death of his wife Sunanda Pushkar.
Pushkar was found dead in the suite of a five-star hotel here on January 17, 2014.
Special Judge Arvind Kumar issued notice to the Delhi police for Wednesday, and it was accepted by the investigating officer of the case. Vikas Pahwa, counsel for Mr. Tharoor, told reporters that the application was filed for protection from arrest, so that his client could appear in court on July 7 as per the summons issued on June 5. The judge will hear the application at 10 a.m. on Wednesday.
