The unidentified scammer, who pretends to be the ‘All I Do Is Win’ hitmaker in an email, tries to collect $300 by offering the addressee a fake music contract.
AceShowbiz –T-Pain is another celebrity to get his name used for a scam. Sharing a screenshot of an email from someone who pretended to be him to collect money, the “Buy U a Drank” rapper warned his online devotees not to fall for the trap.
“Hello my name is T-pain,” so read the screenshot of the scam, which was shared on Instagram. “I handle all business proposals and inquiries for NAPPY BOY ENTERTAINMENT as the EVP&head of A&R. Our A&R reviewed over all your music content and we definitely think you have potential react the next level of your career !”
“NAPPY BOY ENTERTAINMENT LABEL would like to offer you a marketing/ Distribution publishing deals. We offer special services with our deal such from graphics designs to professional materials,” it added. “There is a small fee of $300 for this to take place which will state the offer was unsolicited. We are located in Tallahassee, Florida should you take the deal your deposit fee will be refunded back.”
Alongside the snap, T-Pain wrote, “These boys out here actin UP!! GAAAAAHHHDAAAAAMN! If you get this email pls don’t be stupid. And if you fell for it already…….. Y’all know that ain’t me.” He went on to note, “And broski who sendin that s**t out…… com’on son. Chill bro. ‘Hello my name is T-Pain’ head a** chill bro.”
That aside, T-Pain recently turned to Twitter to share some facts about his debut single “I’m Sprung”. The emcee divulged that fans have been rapping the lyrics wrong as he tweeted, “How in God’s name do ppl hear ‘out to get me’ on I’m Sprung?!”
“It drives me crazy!” the 37-year-old hip-hop star, whose real name is Faheem Rasheed Najm, continued. “It’s ‘Dog she got me’…. How are you hearing the other thing at all?!”
