Strictly’s Bobby Brazier splits from his girlfriend Liberty Love: EastEnders actor ‘dodges’ the show’s curse by breaking off his romance after being partnered with Dianne Buswell
The so-called Strictly Curse has led to many break-ups and romantic bust-ups over the years.
But this year’s favourite Bobby Brazier seems to have found a way to sidestep it altogether – after he split from his on-off girlfriend as his bid for the glitterball trophy begins.
The EastEnders actor, 18, confirmed the split from model Liberty Love, who he had been dating for more than 18 months.
A source said: ‘She and Bobby had been on and off but now it seems that it’s over for good.’
It means he cannot fall prey to the Strictly Curse – where romance blossoms between contestants and professional dancers already in relationships.

Keep dancing! The split comes as the star – who is the son of late reality TV star Jade Goody – made his Strictly debut on Saturday, when 6.2million viewers watched him be paired up with professional Dianne Buswell , 34 (pictured)

Bobby stepped out with Mia Mon over the summer, however it is thought that he and Liberty have been on and off for more than 18 months.
In July 2022, Bobby and Liberty unfollowed each other on Instagram and deleted all traces of each other from their social medias.
However, they rekindled their spark and began dating again, until Bobby called it quits ahead of his Strictly debut.

They are the early favourites to win, and sources say BBC bosses are so keen to see Brazier make it to the final that they may let him off filming for EastEnders while he is on the show.

It comes after Bobby recently opened up about what his late mother Jady Goody would think of him starring in the BBC show.
The Big Brother legend tragically died in March 2009 when she was just 27 after a battle with cervical cancer.
Bobby, who was five when he lost his mum, said he believes she would be ‘happy’ he’s taking part in the competition, after sharing his plans to pay tribute to her with a dance routine on the show.
Speaking to OK! Magazine, the EastEnders star said: ‘She’d be happy that I’m doing something that makes me happy. Like all my friends and all of my family, and everyone that loves me is.

‘They’re happy for me because they know how much I’m going to enjoy myself and how happy I am to just be here.’
The star also confessed he wants to go as far as he can in the competition and spend as much time as possible with his partner.
Last month it was revealed that Bobby has been warned by family and friends not to become distracted by women on the show and risk having his head turned.
Yet Bobby is a cheeky chappy and he told OK! that he’s looking forward to experience both the highs and the lows with his dance partner.
‘I really want to feel all of those things together. We have a potential for a really, really, really sweet relationship that I’ll cherish forever.’
Bobby and the fellow contestants are already forming friendships as the star revealed there is already a busy WhatsApp group.
He joked that he is close to muting the chat, but luckily liked everybody in it.
Bobby has also opened up about how he plans to dedicate one of his dance routines to his late mother.
Speaking exclusively to MailOnline at the National Television Awards last week, Bobby revealed the songs he wants to dance to on the show.
He said: ‘There’s a few – it depends on the mood. Saturday Love and also This Woman’s Worth by Maxwell – that would be beautiful, I’d hope to make people cry doing that.’

Loss: The actor was just five-years-old, and his brother Freddie, four, when Jade Goody passed away on Mother’s Day, 2009, following a battle with cervical cancer
Bobby added: ‘Maybe I’ll dedicate that one [to my mum]. I haven’t thought about it, but maybe that one.’
The star also shared his thoughts on the Strictly curse as he explained: ‘I know everybody who has a relationship there – they’re in love. I don’t have any intention to be a homewrecker at all!
‘I’m looking for a big sister and a lovely relationship.’
Strictly Come Dancing contestants will return for the first live show on September 30 on BBC One and iPlayer.
