EastEnders star Bobby Brazier joins Strictly Come Dancing 2023
Krishnan Guru-Murthy, who is the lead presenter on Channel 4 News, was recently announced as one of the latest celebrities to join this year’s star-studded Strictly Come Dancing line-up.
However, the journalist was left in stitches after ITV made an unfortunate mix-up, as he was mistakenly billed by the broadcaster as a former Love Island contestant.
Hilarity ensued when ITV accidentally posted a picture of Krishnan to their Twitter with a link to a story announcing him as the latest star to take to the dance floor with the caption: “The former Love Island star is the seventh contestant revealed so far.”
Member of Parliament for Ochil & South Perthshire John Nicolson subsequently questioned the tweet, asking: “Former Love Island star?”
Krishnan then shared the tweet with his 696,600 Twitter followers with a crying-laughing emoji.

It seems that ITV had intended to post the caption with a link to their story about the real Love Island star set to be the first from her series to appear on the BBC dance show.
Zara McDermott, who has been announced as a contestant, rose to fame on Love Island in 2018 and has since made documentaries on hard-hitting issues including Revenge Porn, Uncovering Rape Culture and Disordered Eating.
She told the BBC: “I am so excited to be joining the world of Strictly! I grew up watching it every year with my nan and she was the biggest Strictly fan.
