The Pogues singer Shane MacGowan dies aged 65
Shane MacGowan’s wife said she will “miss every part of him” as she penned an emotional tribute to the singer.
Taking to X, formerly Twitter, Victoria Mary Clarke broke her silence after it was announced The Pogues star, famed for his Christmas hit, the Fairytale of New York, died peacefully at 3am today at the age of 65.
Sharing a photo of the singer, she tweeted: “I am going to miss him so much! His smile, his eyes his laugh his sense of humour and his voice, every little part of him [heart emojis].”
Social media users flocked to comment on the post as fans offered their condolences while paying tribute to the hitmaker.
One person penned: “My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time, sending much love and blessings.”

Another person commented: “I’m sorry for your and your family’s loss. He was a fantastic songwriter and an all-around great guy.”
