When producers of an ‘adults-only’ pantomime asked Geordie Shore star Scotty T whether he would head up the cast, the cheeky reality TV regular must have replied, ‘Oh yes I will’.
At the eleventh hour though, this has turned into ‘oh no I won’t’ as the 30-year-old Geordie has turned his back on the production, due to ‘ill health’ as ticket sales were revealed to be disastrous.
Scotty was due to play the lead role in Jack and His Giant Beanstalk in the touring production but with only 22 tickets being sold in the 650-seat Blackpool venue, the former Celebrity Big Brother winner has left the cast in the lurch by walking out on them.
This has led to producers drafting another CBB star, Austin Armacost, as they look to keep the show on track, despite ticket sales bordering on the disastrous for its run across the UK.
There has been annoyance among the panto’s crew and one inside has told The Sun that Scotty’s withdrawal was, "apparently due to illness."
They also admitted that with just three days before the panto begins, the cast "are all annoyed" with Scotty turning his back on them.
The panto will be visiting venues in Newcastle, Bolton, Blackpool and London and tickets are costing £17.50 a pop.
The bawdy show also stars Drag Idol UK winner Danny Beard and describes itself as "camp, filthy and fabulous."
It would seem that it is not ‘fabulous’ enough to keep Scotty on board or generate enough interest with the public.
