Scottish star Kaye Adams left fuming as she’s slammed for supporting Lionesses

Scottish TV star Kaye Adams was accused of showing her “Tory true colours” after the Loose Women presenter declared she wanted to order a poster of Lioness Mary Earps.

Despite England’s 1-0 defeat in the Women’s World Cup final, goalkeeper Earps earned herself plenty of praise for pulling off an incredible save when Spain won a penalty.

Following the England star’s impressive performance, Kaye took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to praise the footballer in the midst of the match.

She told fans: “Win or lose, I’m ordering a poster #maryearps for my bedroom wall #LionessesDownUnder.”

Kaye previously tweeted: “I b****y love #maryearps!”

However, one social media user was less than impressed by her supporting the Lionesses, as they hit back: “Kaye the Tory true colours.”

After spotting the surprising swipe, Kaye didn’t waste any time in issuing a retort.

She fumed: “So supporting a brilliant team of women is Tory, is it? Get over yourself.”

Many fans were quick to support Kaye, with many pointing out she has every right to support England, despite being Scottish.

One person tweeted: “I’m supporting women playing brilliant football. Good for you Kaye Adams.

“C’mon guys we aren’t in the dark ages. Actually I was supporting Spain (they had 100 more passes) But would hope everyone was behind women’s football. Not about where you live or have I missed something.”

Another agreed: “Well that fella must be proud of himself! We do share the same landmass the last time I looked but hey ho. I also supported England too.”

A third person commented: “On what basis did you come to that conclusion? I’m Scottish, never voted Tory in my life but I’ve just spent nearly 2 hours willing the #Lionessess on.”

“You’re a Tory for supporting a British side in the World Cup? Where do they find you people?!?” A fourth questioned.

Mary Earps wasn’t just praised by Kaye, as her Loose Women co-star Judi Love also shared her appreciation for the player’s celebration after saving the penalty.

The comedian tweeted: “#MaryEarps [crying with laughing emojis] Her response felt like we was at the local pub!! #England #womensWorldCup2023.”

The Lionesses keeper also won more fans when in the aftermath of saving Jennifer Hermoso’s penalty, she appeared to shout “f*** off”, according to lip readers.
