Ruth Wilson transformed into Emily Maitlis as she filmed scenes for new drama A Very Royal Scandal in London on Thursday.

Ruth is taking on the role of Emily for the three-part Amazon series A Very Royal Scandal, which is based on her famous Newsnight interview with Prince Andrew.

Michael Sheen will star as the Duke of York alongside her in the drama, which will follow her ‘professional and personal journey’ leading up to the ‘acclaimed’ interview.

Stepping out for filming outside the BBC Studios, Ruth transformed into Emily as she rocked a short, blonde bob and mirrored the former BBC newsreader’s style.

For one look, Ruth put on a leggy display in a navy mini dress, which she styled with a grey jacket and white slip-ons.

She kept her essentials in a navy shoulder bag and a smaller grey handbag as she strolled out of the studios.

Ruth also changed into a black double breasted cardigan with a high neckline and gold buttons and cuff detailing, which she wore with a skirt and knee-high boots.

She later slipped into a more casual ensemble as she rocked a grey T-shirt and blue jeans, which she styled with a black leather jacket.

Ruth gave herself a few extra inches in a pair of pointed black boots as she was filmed walking out of the BBC studios carrying a cardboard box of her belongings.

Emily left Newsnight to host The News Agents podcast with former BBC journalists Jon Sopel and Lewis Goodall and she is now also serving as an executive producer on the Amazon drama.

Emily has already been an executive producer of a Channel 4 documentary about the interview called Andrew: The Problem Prince.
