Rita Ora and Taika Waititi couldn’t hide the fact that they’re completely smitten with each other during their red carpet debut last night.
The loved-up couple attended The Suicide Squad premiere in Los Angeles on Monday, officially going public with their sizzling romance.
As they arrived at the Regency Village Theatre, Rita, 30, and Taika, 45, beamed from ear-to-ear while posing for cosy photos together.
Marvel director and actor Taika took charge of leading Rita along the red carpet by the hand but, at one point, the pair suddenly came over all giddy and were seen joking around with each other while holding hands.
In their couple photos, Rita held onto Taika’s arm as the filmmaker proudly pointed a finger towards his real life leading lady.
Anywhere singer Rita stunned in a long-sleeved white minidress with cut-out detailing around her abs and a plunging neckline, while Taika kept it smart in a grey suit, adding a little flair with an unbuttoned white shirt.
They rubbed shoulders with Taika’s The Suicide Squad co-star Margot Robbie, who plays Harley Quinn, as well as John Cena, Storm Reid and James Gunn, who were among the premiere guests. Taika plays Ratcatcher in the DC Comics sequel.
It’s the first time Rita and Taika have appeared on a red carpet together since they began dating earlier this year.
Confirming their romance, a source previously told The Sun: ‘They’ve been a couple since early March but kept things low key. However, all their friends know about the relationship – they’re really into each other.’
Things escalated quickly with Rita sharing a photo of her hugging Taika on Instagram, albeit concealing his face, while also being pictured on dates together in Australia where Taika was working on the Thor: Love and Thunder blockbuster.
Their romance reached fever pitch in May when photos emerged of Taika kissing both Rita and actress Tessa Thompson during a boozy lunch.
He later addressed the scandalous images and told The Sydney Morning Herald: ‘I think in the world of the internet, everything goes away pretty quick.
‘And also, Is it that big a deal? No, not really. I was doing nothing wrong. It’s fine.’
The Suicide Squad is out now.
