Piers Morgan, 55, took to Twitter today to offer his deepest condolences to John Travolta, 66, after it emerged that his wife Kelly Preston, 57, was dead following her long-term battle with breast cancer. The Good Morning Britain presenter said the news had left him feeling “gutted” as the couple shared one of the most “enduring” Hollywood marriages.
Such sad news
Piers wrote to his 7.6 million followers: “Such sad news about Kelly Preston. She & John Travolta had one of the most enduring (29 year) Hollywood marriages & were two of the nicest, most genuine people in the business. Gutted for him.”
Following the TV presenter’s statement, there was an outpouring of grief from fans for the Grease star in the comment section.
One said: “He also lost his previous girlfriend to breast cancer. And his son died a decade ago. He’s had a lot of tragedy in his life.”
Another replied: “Poor guy has been through a lot, rip kelly.”

A third commented: “So devastating especially after the loss of their little boy.”
Kelly died of breast cancer, John confirmed on his Instagram overnight.
The couple had been married for 29 years and share two children together.
Their young son Jett died in 2009 aged 16 following a seizure during a family holiday in the Bahamas.
Actress Kelly won praise for her role in Miley Cyrus film, The Last Song.
Eight years later she starred in film Gotti, alongside husband John, as the crime boss’ wife Victoria.
She is survived by her A-list spouse and children Ella Bleu, 20, and Benjamin, 10.
On her Instagram, Ella, penned a moving tribute to her late mother: “I love you so much mama.

A family representative told People magazine that Kelly had chosen to keep her health battle “private” while supported by her family.
They said: “Choosing to keep her fight private, she had been undergoing medical treatment for some time, supported by her closest family and friends.
“She was a bright, beautiful and loving soul who cared deeply about others and who brought life to everything she touched.”
