After suffering a rough bout of long Covid, Piers Morgan, 57, is more than ready to regain his taste and smell, and can’t wait to put it to good use – by drinking his much loved wine. But after sharing the update online that he is yet to experience that luxury, he was mocked by cricketer Kevin Pietersen, who appeared to be bored of him “banging on about it”.
You have no taste, period

Taking to Twitter, a fed-up Piers provided fans with an update on his health.
“Of all the many irritations of Long Covid, not least me banging on about it, an ongoing inability (15 weeks after infection) to taste good wine and regular coffee is the worst,” he penned.
Fans rushed to the comments section, with one joking: “Think of all the money you can save by drinking bad wine.
Another added: “Honestly don’t know how you’ve coped.

“I was losing my mind after five days before it gradually came back.”
Among them was Kevin Pietersen, who simply posted a violin emoji, perhaps suggesting there’s no sympathy on his end.
But Piers didn’t have time for nonsense.
“You have no taste, period,” he snapped.
Journalist Stig Abell, also voiced his concerns about what he believes is the worst part of Piers’ Covid battle.
“I think you’ll find, for the rest of us, you banging on about it is the worst,” he retorted.
Again, Piers was quick to reply as he penned: “I know mate, sorry.
“And the worst thing is that I’m banging on about it to my 8 million followers, whereas you bang on about stuff to only 100k!”
Elsewhere, Piers unleashed his fury at the news that Wayne Couzens, who kidnapped, raped and killed Sarah Everard earlier this year, is now trying to appeal his life sentence.
It has sparked outrage with millions across the UK, after he was handed a whole-life prison term last month.
Sharing an article on the social media site, Piers wrote: “F*** off.”
As details of Ms Everard’s murder emerged in September, Piers said: “Everything about the kidnap and murder of Sarah Everard is just gut-wrenchingly awful.
“And the fact her depraved killer was a serving policeman makes it even more appalling.
“My heart breaks for her poor family. RIP Sarah.”
A court official said on Tuesday: “We have been notified that an appeal has been lodged by Mr Couzens.”
Another justice official said: “We expected this. He has nothing to lose.”
