Phillip Schofield stuns co-stars as he reveals past Friends cameo

Phillip Schofield has revealed he once featured on the American sitcom Friends, although nobody would be able to guess.

The presenter, 61, admitted that although he didn't end appear on screen, or even have any lines, he was lucky enough to end up in the show in another way.

Phillip explained it was during an episode called The One Where Monica and Richard are Just Friends, where Joey and Rachel read each others books. Joey reads Little Women and Rachel reads The Shining.

“I have actually been on Friends. I’ve been in an episode of Friends," he announced. "The one where they keep the scary books in the fridge.

“When I say I was on Friends, my laugh was on Friends.

“I went to watch it and laughed out loud and thought, 'Oh my god I’m gonna be in it, because it made me laugh out loud.'”

Phillip experienced what most of us can only dream of by being in the live audience during filming. He said when Joey made the joke: “These Little Women, how little are they?” that he burst out laughing, which can be heard in the episode.

In the scene, Phillip’s iconic laugh can be heard among the audience and once you notice it, you won’t miss it again.

Phillip made a highly anticipated return to ITV's This Morning on Monday after several weeks off where he thanked fans and the crew for their support over recent weeks, presenting the show with Rochelle Humes, as co-star Holly Willoughby was absent.

Holly issued a statement on her Instagram stories earlier this week stating that she is taking some time away from work as she has shingles, but said she will be “back as soon as I’m better”.

Phillip opened This Morning by saying: "I'd just like to say, it is really lovely to be back. I have missed the show and everyone here and also to you.

"I wanted to say thank you for your kind messages and support which were really appreciated. Thank you very much indeed. On with the show… Shall we?"

It marked the first time Phillip has hosted This Morning since his brother Timothy Schofield was convicted of sexual abuse.

An insider told The Sun: "Both Phillip and ITV agreed the time was right for his return."

They added: "He is keen for normal life to return and is very grateful for all the support from colleagues and friends behind the scenes. Everyone at ITV wants him back on air."
