*NSYNC have returned with a new single, “Better Place,” the boy band’s first song in over 20 years.
“I don’t mind that the world spins faster, faster, faster / Just let me take you to a better place,” the band sings in the song’s chorus.
“Better Place” is co-produced by Justin Timberlake and Shellback. It appears in the animated movie Trolls Band Together, due out November 17 and starring Timberlake.
“It was pretty emotional, the first time we all got in the studio together,” *NSYNC’s Lance Bass recently told Entertainment Tonight of the “Better Place” recording session. “Back in March, we decided to, you know, get back together and have some fun and it was like no [time] had passed.”
Bass continued, “But there was there was a lot of tears. It was just tears of joy. And it was just a beautiful moment. Like, time does so much and for us to finally be together, it just feels right.”
The song marks *NSYNC’s first musical release since 2002, when the Neptunes remix of “Girlfriend,” featuring Nelly, dropped.
The new track comes just weeks after the group reunited at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards to present the award for best pop to Taylor Swift for “Anti-Hero.”
