Love Island’s Iain Stirling says ‘it’s sexy’ watching Laura Whitmore act

Love Island narrator Iain Stirling has admitted he’s in awe of his wife Laura Whitmore’s acting skills and says “it’s sexy” when he watches her act.

The 34-year-old – who has been married to Laura since 2020 and shares one-year-old daughter Stevie with her – is starring alongside his wife in his semi-autobiographical ITV show, Buffering, which Iain created with comedian pal Steve Bugeja in 2021.

Iain said: “It’s quite cool watching your wife be really good at her thing. It’s sexy – watching her being really brilliant at a skill.”

The star – who also hosts a true crime podcast with Laura – added: “I just love seeing her do it.”

Last August, Laura, 37, made her West End debut playing the role of Jenny in supernatural thriller A Ghost Story alongside Busted star and former I’m a Celebrity winner Matt Willis.

Since Saturday, Cheryl Tweedy has been playing the role of Jenny. Jenny believes her new home is haunted, but her husband Sam doesn't agree and the argument continues.

In December, Cheryl told fans on Instagram she’d be stepping to Laura’s shoes.

She said: "Hey!!! .. I am SO excited to be starring in the west end thriller @222aghoststory !! I will be playing the role of Jenny from January – April! I went to see the show with a previous cast and LOVED IT!

“It is a totally new and exciting experience for me so if you’re looking for a fun night out & some entertainment in your new year tickets are available now."

Laura quickly responded saying: "It’s the best!!! You’re going to love it."

Last summer, Laura said she made the decision to quit Love Island "due to the format".

Taking to Instagram, Laura uploaded a snap of her entering the villa and explained some of the factors behind her exit.

She wrote: "Some news! I won’t be hosting the next series of Love Island. There are certain elements of the show I’ve found very difficult that cannot be changed some due to the format, including the flying back and forth to South Africa along with my new conflicting projects."

She added: "I wish it was still possible but know you’ll be in safe hands. I was only planning to fill in for Caroline for a series and it turned into 3 series. I hope I did you proud Caroline."

The star opened up about her decision further in an interview, saying, "If I could have done things the way I wanted to, I'd probably still be doing it."

She went on to explain that she was forced to "stay quiet" when it came to sharing her opinions with the Islanders, and admitted that she struggled to stay impartial.
